Rock you like a hurricane...

The 'trick' part of 'trick or treat' is coming early this year, and it started on Monday when this little bit of weather in the Caribbean went from a tropical storm to a Category 5 hurricane in the span of 24 hours, and has been bobbing about giving all the hurricane forecasters ulcers. Wilma was supposed to be here this weekend, and several football games (from pro to college to high school) got rescheduled because of that. Now it's looking like she's going to visit Mexico first and be here Monday night.

I had a brief spate of annoyance when I had trouble finding the hardware to put up the storm panels, but that turned up Wednesday night. Of course, that means Wilma will give us a miss altogether now that I'm actually prepared. So far my expensive shutters have proved a very effective Hurricane Deterrent System - we have yet to use them since we got them. Money well spent, certainly. Though maybe they only came with a single-season Get Out of Hurricane Free card.

I know last year folks were worried and were checking here to make sure we're okay, so I'll try to post updates as things happen, or don't happen. Preferably not happen.

Ship the guys at the NHC in Miami a case of the good stuff. They need it.
